1. Introduction and acceptance
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the ACountAPill website, mobile application and related services (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and the applicable Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. Purpose and medical disclaimer
ACountAPill is a medication reminder and accountability support tool. It does not verify that a medication was swallowed, provide medical advice, diagnose conditions, recommend doses, replace a pharmacist or healthcare professional, or provide emergency monitoring. A recorded confirmation is a user-reported status, not clinical verification.
Do not change or stop medication based on the Services. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. Reminders and notifications can be delayed or fail; do not rely on ACountAPill as your sole reminder or safety system.
3. Account creation and accuracy
You must provide accurate account and medication details and maintain the security of your credentials. Creating an account, entering a telephone number, purchasing a subscription or using the app does not automatically enroll you in SMS notifications.
4. Optional SMS notifications and separate consent
SMS notifications are optional and are not required to purchase, register for, or use ACountAPill. Account creation, purchase, and entry of a phone number do not themselves enroll a person in SMS. The application presents a separate optional SMS consent screen with a checkbox that is unchecked by default. Before agreeing, users are shown the recurring message categories, links to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and this disclosure: Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out.
Users enroll only after affirmatively selecting the SMS consent checkbox and confirming their choice. Upon enrollment, the app is designed to display a separate in-app “SMS Notifications Enabled” confirmation and send a distinct primary-user confirmation SMS. The app may be used without SMS through other available notification methods.
Reply STOP to opt out of recurring SMS messages and HELP for support. SMS opt-out does not itself cancel an account or paid subscription. Delivery can be delayed or unavailable because of network, device or provider conditions. For support contact notify@acountapill.com.
5. Caregiver or accountability partner invitations
A user may designate a trusted caregiver or ACountAPill Partner to receive authorized adherence or assistance notifications. Designating a partner does not enroll that person in recurring SMS. The invited person is asked: “Reply YES or Y to agree, or NO or N to decline.” Either YES or Y is affirmative consent; either NO or N declines. Responses are handled without regard to letter case, and no ongoing partner SMS is activated unless affirmative consent is recorded.
After a YES or Y response, the partner receives a separate SMS confirmation of enrollment. A NO or N response does not activate recurring partner messages. Partners may later reply STOP to opt out. Users should invite only trusted individuals, as messages can reveal medication-related activity. ACountAPill Partners are not emergency responders or professional monitors merely by participating.
6. SMS message content and controls
Subject to the applicable user's preferences and each recipient's separate consent, SMS may include medication reminders, account or reminder-setting changes, enrollment confirmations, support replies, and partner adherence or assistance alerts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out.
When implemented, medication reminder reply commands may include C (confirm taken), SN (snooze), SK (skip), U (unsure), and NH (need help). HELP is a program-support request and STOP is an SMS opt-out command; neither is equivalent to NH. ACountAPill does not guarantee immediate processing or delivery of responses. The application may allow a user to update a previously unconfirmed dose to Confirmed Taken later the same day, while preserving the earlier recorded response.
7. Plans, billing and cancellation
ACountAPill may offer a Free plan and paid Premium plans. Plan features, limits, pricing, renewal terms, applicable taxes and any add-ons are those displayed in the iOS app at the time of purchase. Purchases and subscriptions are handled through Apple's in-app purchase system, subject to applicable Apple terms.
Where subscriptions automatically renew, manage or cancel them through the applicable Apple subscription settings. Disabling SMS does not cancel a subscription. Confirm current plan prices and feature limits against the live app before publishing this policy.
8. Your responsibilities and acceptable use
Enter correct medication names, doses, times and contact information; review your history; do not impersonate another person, misuse the service, send invitations without a legitimate relationship, or interfere with service security. Do not use ACountAPill to send unsolicited promotional texts.
9. Privacy and sensitive information
Medication schedules, status responses and caregiver alerts may contain sensitive health-related information. Our Privacy Policy explains collection, use, sharing, retention, access and deletion practices. Consider lock-screen previews and shared phones before enabling SMS.
10. Service availability and liability
The Services are provided subject to availability. To the extent permitted by applicable law, ACountAPill does not guarantee uninterrupted service, accurate pill-count estimates, timely message delivery or medication adherence. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Changes and contact
We may revise these Terms and will post an updated version with an effective date. Material changes will be communicated where required by law. For questions or SMS assistance, contact notify@acountapill.com.
