Privacy Policy
AcountAPill — medication reminders with accountability. Effective September 11, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how AcountAPill may collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal information in connection with the AcountAPill website, mobile application and Services.
Because medication activity can constitute sensitive health-related information, AcountAPill is designed to treat such information with care. This Policy should be read together with the AcountAPill Terms and Conditions.
2. Information We May Collect
Depending on how you use AcountAPill, we may collect account information such as your name, email address, telephone number, login credentials or similar identifiers; medication information such as medication name, dosage, schedule and reminder preferences; medication activity such as confirmations, skips, snoozes, uncertainty responses and requests for help; AcountAPill Partner information and notification preferences; subscription and transaction information; and technical information such as device type, operating system, IP address, app/browser information, log information and security-related data.
We may also collect information you voluntarily provide when you contact us or request support.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to create and administer accounts; provide reminders and accountability features; record and display medication activity; send notifications by the communication method selected by the user; notify AcountAPill Partners according to user settings; provide weekly or monthly adherence reports where included in the plan; process subscriptions and payments; maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the Services; communicate with users about their accounts or important service changes; prevent fraud, abuse or security incidents; and comply with legal obligations.
4. Consent
Where required by applicable privacy law, AcountAPill will obtain consent to collect, use or disclose personal information. By creating an account or using features that require personal information, you consent to the practices described in this Policy, subject to applicable legal rights to withdraw consent. You are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from an AcountAPill Partner before adding that person’s contact information and using the Services to send them notifications.
5. Medication and Health-Related Information
Medication information may be sensitive. AcountAPill uses it to provide the features you request, including reminders, dose tracking, accountability notifications and reports. AcountAPill does not sell personal health information.
AcountAPill does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment recommendations or clinical decisions. Users should not enter information that is unnecessary for the operation of the Services.
6. Notifications and Communications
Depending on account settings, AcountAPill may send notifications by email, text message, push notification or other supported method. A notification may include enough information to perform the requested feature and may therefore reveal that the user is using a medication-management service.
Users should consider device privacy, shared phones, lock-screen previews and notification settings when choosing how notifications are delivered.
7. Service Providers and Disclosures
AcountAPill may use trusted service providers to host data, process payments, deliver email or SMS messages, provide push notifications, maintain software, provide analytics, prevent fraud and support the Services. Such providers may process personal information on AcountAPill's behalf and only for authorized purposes.
We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, financing, reorganization or sale of assets.
8. International Processing
Some service providers or technical infrastructure may be located outside Canada. Where personal information is processed in another country, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies or regulatory authorities in accordance with applicable law.
9. Cookies and Technical Data
The website may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functionality, security, preferences, analytics or performance. Users may be able to control cookies through browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.
10. Data Security
AcountAPill uses reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration or destruction. No electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure, and AcountAPill cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to provide the Services, meet contractual and legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and maintain appropriate business records.
Subject to legal, security and operational requirements, users may request deletion of their account or personal information. Certain information may need to be retained for a period where required or permitted by law.
12. Access, Correction and Privacy Requests
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information AcountAPill holds about you and request correction of inaccurate information. You may also ask questions about how your information is handled or withdraw consent where permitted.
Privacy requests should be made using the contact information provided on the AcountAPill website. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
13. Children
AcountAPill is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authorization. If a parent or guardian believes information about a child has been collected improperly, please contact AcountAPill so the matter can be reviewed.
